World Architecture Day 2025: Design for Strength
Today we celebrate World Architecture Day – a day established in 1985 by the International Union of Architects to highlight the power of architecture.
This year, the day focuses on the theme “Design for Strength” – a call to create sustainable, resilient, and healthy living environments. This theme aligns closely with Jaga’s values and principles.
Design for Strength: Building Sustainable Living Environments
The International Union of Architects invites architects around the world to look beyond short-term solutions and embrace designs that radiate strength and continuity. Four core messages are central to this vision:
Strength in Design – Our built environment must embody sustainability, resilience, and cultural sensitivity. This requires awakening the artist within us (awake the artist), so that design is not only functional but also meaningful and inspiring.
Platform for Resilience – Built environments play a crucial role in protection and reconstruction after natural disasters or human crises. This is an opportunity to dream together of a future (dream a future) where architecture serves as a source of safety and hope.
Sustainable Rebuilding – Recovery and adaptation demand responsible use of materials and sustainable methods. Only by truly respecting nature (respect nature) can we build living environments that support health and continuity.
Beyond Shelter – Architecture goes beyond providing shelter; it contributes to equality, continuity, and well-being. In doing so, we build bridges (building bridges) between people, generations, and cultures, creating spaces that genuinely connect.

In creating strong and sustainable living environments, both the design and the technology behind the façades play a crucial role. Climate solutions and energy efficiency determine how comfortable, healthy, and future-proof buildings can be.
