There is an old ceramics workshop of Philips on Strijp-R in Eindhoven. The building, dating back to the fifties of the previous century, has been home to Piet Hein Eek and several other creative companies and design studios since 2010. The creative hub attracts both people from the immediate vicinity and from far and wide. To complete the experience, the Piet Hein Eek hotel was recently completed. The 13 rooms, designed by several artists, make sure that the guests can completely immerse themselves in the world of Piet Hein Eek. A great number of the hotel’s furniture and details were made in its own workshop and ensured the typical Piet Hein Eek feeling. In order to create the ideal indoor climate, Van den Hoff Installatiebedrijf was consulted. Multiple indoor climate solutions were discussed and eventually, the Briza 22 ceiling-recessed installation with its energy-efficient motor turned out to be the best choice. The fact that it could both cool and heat generated a lot of enthusiasm at Piet Hein Eek. The powerful Briza 22 is installed in every room and is skilfully concealed above the entrance. Invisible, but with great effect! Each room has a thermostat that can be used to adjust the temperature. The rooms are quickly up to temperature, which is a must for a hotel. Behind the Briza lies a heat exchanger, combined with a very quiet dynamic system. Because the rooms are located under a flat roof, cooling is necessary. Without cooling, the room temperature would be too high in the summer. By actively heating in the winter and cooling in the summer, an optimal indoor temperature in the rooms can be guaranteed throughout the year.
