The brand-new city hall in the centre of Hasselt will be able to give better service because the previously distributed city services will now be combined in this new building. The new city offices consist of a newly constructed building and a renovated section (the old gendarmerie barracks). The building, with an area of around 17,000 m², has set the bar of sustainability much higher than the legal standards prescribe.
