The Hotel Vanden Meersche, located in Ghent, is an imposing building from the 18th century that was named after one of its first owners. The mansion has an impressive interior with many wall and ceiling paintings. From 1892 to 2003, the hotel was owned by nuns who ran the building as a retirement home. Afterwards, Hotel Vanden Meersche was fully restored and, in addition to a residential function, also received a few public functions.

Given the historical value of this building, the architect was looking for the most suitable HVAC solution that could meet the strict standards of classified homes. For example, no device was allowed to be placed in the floor or against the wall, in order to preserve the historic character. Together with the customer, our engineers came up with the most ideal solution: our underfloor solutions integrated into the window sills. The historic splendor was not affected, but the building was provided with energy-efficient heating thanks to this tailor-made Jaga radiator.
